Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise for everyone! It is a gentle, low-impact conditioning programme that is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
Pilates exercises are simple but effective. A combination of mat work, posture awareness and resistance techniques are taught to switch on the muscles which support your spine. Performing these exercises takes concentration and focus. The exercises are designed to target the deep abdominal muscles and the surrounding muscles, helping to reduce strain and support the spine.
Pilates is particularly effective for people suffering from recurrent back or joint pain, pelvic floor problems, stress and many other medical conditions. It is also an excellent form of exercise for pregnant and post-natal women. At our centre there will never be more than 10 participants in each of our classes, so our instructors have the time to ensure everyone gets the attention they need to perform the exercises correctly and without fear of aggravating an underlying problem. All equipment is provided. If it is your first time doing Pilates at our centre we advise that you join one of our beginners classes or attend a one to one class.
Whether it is improved core stability, injury rehabilitation, enhanced sporting performance or a flatter tummy you are aiming to achieve, Pilates can help with them all! Many of our patients have commented on how much taller and leaner they feel after just a few sessions.
