Yoga is a form of exercise that focuses on posture, strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
Yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity that combines stretching exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation. Yoga can help relieve aches and pains, reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve heart function. And almost anyone can do it.
Our Yoga classes begin with a short period of relaxation followed by warm-up poses. You can then expect a series of movements designed to improve your posture by increasing your strength and flexibility. Poses range from lying on the floor while completely relaxed to difficult postures that may have you stretching your physical limits. Controlling your breathing is an important part of Yoga. Yoga teaches that controlling your breathing can help you control your body and quiet your mind.
We enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with small classes - you will never find more than 10 in a class here, so there is individual attention when you need it. There is no need to bring your own mats or blocks as we have a supply in the studio, although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Whilst our aim is to develop strength, flexibility and control in posture, we understand that everyone’s body is different, and the postures will be tailored to your abilities. Our instructors are experienced and attentive to ensure that Yoga is both safe and effective for you.
